2 Oct 2008I was Googling for the difference between a ‘Friend’ and a ‘Well-wisher’ and found an interesting article. It’s worth a look – although it’s not about the difference between a ‘friend’ and ‘well-wisher’.
A sycophant flatters you on your face,
And criticizes you behind;
Because –
He needs you to serve his own purpose.But a true friend never misleads you;
He loves you genuinely on your face,
And criticizes you honestly on your face,
Whether you like it or not;
Because-
A genuine friend is an honest well-wisher,
Who cares for you,
And does not want others –
To criticize you behind.If you have an insightful vision,
And an unprejudiced mind,
You can discern one from the other.
A criticism is healthy,
If it helps you to improve.Similarly,
A friend is genuine,
If he helps you to improve.
Now, it’s up to you,
Take it or leave it.
