Paul Allen and Bill Gates were at Harvard together when they flew to Albuquerque to pitch the Basic Programming language to MITS the manufacturer of the Altair 8800 which by the way was Intel first successful general purpose CPU. The other company where they purchased DOS from was Seattle Computer Services. Couple of things.
